Benel Energy was engaged to provide Well Engineering Project Management (WEPM) services for the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, (NPDC) OML 26 Asset Management Team, for the delivery of planned infill wells (workovers, re-entries, new drills and appraisal wells) as part of a brownfield redevelopment campaign.

The development area comprises heavy oil reservoirs with challenges of early water breakthrough (EWBT) from viscous fingering and unfavourable mobility ratio. Benel assembled an IPM team and instituted a comprehensive wells delivery plan via a stage gate
decision process through which value-creating ideas were identified.
